Corinne Smith
is a licensed veterinary technician with 14 years of clinical experience. She is also a licensed human massage therapist (having graduated with honors from Ashmead) with her endorsement to work with both small animals, and equines. She has been practicing massage on animals for 8 years, worked in several canine hydrotherapy centers, and has attended 2 traditional veterinary acupuncture courses, so as to finely tune her acupressure skills. Corinne completed Equitouch's Equine Sports Massage Therapy Certification to the 2nd level. Corinne graduated with honors from PIMA, obtaining her license in Radiologic Technology. She currently works at Seattle Childrens Hospital providing Diagnostic Imaging for children in need, and enjoys the balance of working with children and their families as well as with animals.
Corinne is also an accomplished equestrian in the modality of dressage, providing training for some area horses & riders. She also completed a year long program at Thorncroft Equestrian Center in therapeutic horseback riding, and has a special passion for working with the disabled on horseback.
Corinne has spent her whole life with animals of all sizes, ranging from the screech owls under her care while a keeper at The Philadelphia Zoo, to the massive horses who seem to move as though they are light as a feather. She is fascinated by the unique nature of every body, yet the symbiotic balance in which we all live.
Corinne shares her life with several 4-legged companions...all of whom were rescued from one situation or another. She recently rescued a horse from slaughter, and continues to learn something new every day.
